Furniture specifications were tailored to the functional requirements and design character of each space, covering dimensions, materials, forms, construction, and finishes to achieve a cohesive balance of design, comfort, and functionality.
Project Overview
Located on Jalan Ampang in central Kuala Lumpur, W Kuala Lumpur features 150 guestrooms and suites, including 18 suites. The hotel’s “Jungle City” concept combines Malaysian cultural references with a contemporary urban aesthetic, extending across guestrooms, public spaces, and dining areas to create a distinctive hospitality environment.
Project Scope & Product Supply
Craftell Home developed customized furniture for guestrooms, suites, lobby, public areas, and restaurants, with dimensions, proportions, materials, construction, and finishes tailored to the requirements of each space. The furniture solutions were coordinated to support comfort, durability, and a cohesive interior aesthetic across different hotel environments.
Note: The furniture was developed to complement W Kuala Lumpur’s distinctive urban and tropical design language while supporting the demands of high-frequency hotel use. Materials, finishes, and construction details were considered for wear resistance, stain resistance, easy maintenance, and long-term durability, with timber, metal, upholstery, and surface finishes coordinated to create a layered material palette.
Design Requirements & Customized Solutions
The project combined W Kuala Lumpur’s distinctive design language with the functional requirements of guestrooms, suites, and public areas. Furniture was customized in terms of materials, dimensions, forms, construction, and finishes to balance visual character, guest comfort, and hotel operations.
Material & Finish Coordination — Timber, metal, upholstery, and surface finishes were coordinated according to the design requirements of guestrooms, suites, and public areas.
Customized Dimensions & Spatial Fit — Furniture dimensions, proportions, and functional details were adjusted to suit different room types and public-space layouts.
Integration of Design Elements — Furniture forms, material combinations, and detailing were developed to complement the hotel’s Jungle City concept and its local cultural references.
Upholstery & Fabric Selection — Upholstery fabrics, filling specifications, and craftsmanship were selected according to usage requirements, balancing comfort with durability.
Structural & Craftsmanship Optimization — Internal construction, connection methods, and manufacturing details were refined to support long-term and frequent hotel use.
Customized Details & Dimensions — Edges, proportions, hardware, joints, and finish details were customized to meet practical requirements while maintaining consistency with the overall interior design.
