Project Overview
JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa is a five-star resort located in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. The property combines guestrooms and suites with a distinctive lobby and a range of dining and bar venues, together with extensive resort facilities. The property was reimagined by Australian design studio DBI, drawing inspiration from the Gold Coast hinterland and the natural character of coastal Queensland.
Project Scope & Product Supply
Craftell Home provided customized furniture for guestrooms, suites, lobby, restaurant, and bar areas. Furniture dimensions, materials, forms, construction, and finishes were tailored to the functional requirements and design character of each space, balancing guest comfort, durability, and the overall resort aesthetic.
Note: The furniture was used across guestrooms, public lounge areas, and dining and bar environments, requiring a balance of frequent use and routine maintenance. Materials, upholstery, finishes, and construction details were considered for wear resistance, stain resistance, easy cleaning, and long-term durability, while complementing the resort character of the Gold Coast.
Design Requirements & Customized Solutions
Furniture was customized in terms of materials, dimensions, forms, upholstery, construction, and finishes according to the functional requirements of different resort areas, balancing comfort, durability, and a cohesive design language.
Material & Finish Coordination — Timber, metal, upholstery, and surface finishes were coordinated according to the design requirements of guestrooms, lobby, restaurants, and bars.
Customized Dimensions & Spatial Fit — Furniture dimensions, proportions, and functional details were adjusted according to different layouts and circulation requirements.
Guestroom Furniture Customization — Bed frames, bedside tables, sofas, lounge chairs, and storage furniture were customized according to the spatial requirements of guestrooms and suites.
Upholstery & Fabric Selection — Fabrics, filling specifications, and upholstery craftsmanship were selected according to the different requirements of guestrooms, public areas, and dining spaces.
Restaurant & Bar Furniture Customization — Dining tables, chairs, banquette seating, bar stools, and related furniture were customized in terms of dimensions, materials, and construction to suit the seating layouts and usage requirements of restaurant and bar areas.
Structural & Manufacturing Optimization — Construction methods, connection details, and manufacturing processes were refined to support frequent hotel use and long-term durability.
