Mövenpick Hotel
Craftell Home provided customized hotel lighting for Mövenpick Hotel Al Zaytoon Baghdad, covering the lobby, public areas, lounge spaces, and restaurants. Fixture dimensions, forms, materials, light sources, and detailing were customized according to the functional and interior design requirements of each area.
Project Overview
Mövenpick Hotel Al Zaytoon Baghdad is located in Baghdad, Iraq, with a range of lobby, public lounge, and dining spaces. The lighting scheme combined different fixture types to provide ambient, task, and decorative illumination while coordinating with the hotel furniture and interior materials.
Project Scope & Product Supply
The lighting package was arranged according to the functions of the lobby, public areas, lounge spaces, and restaurants. Pendant lights, table lamps, floor lamps, and wall lights were combined through different dimensions, forms, and layouts to create layered hotel lighting while meeting the functional and visual requirements of each space.
Note: The lighting was designed for hotel public and dining spaces with extended daily operating hours and routine maintenance requirements. Beyond functional illumination, attention was given to the relationship between fixture scale, furniture layouts, interior materials, and the overall lighting effect.
Design Requirements & Customized Solutions
For the hotel’s public and dining spaces, the lighting solution was customized around spatial proportions, furniture layouts, and the overall interior design character. Pendant lights, table lamps, floor lamps, and wall lights were coordinated to create different layers of illumination while enhancing the atmosphere of the lobby, lounge areas, and restaurants.
Spatial Proportions & Fixture Dimensions — Fixture dimensions were adjusted according to the area, ceiling height, and furniture proportions of the lobby, lounges, and restaurants.
Fixture Forms & Materials — Fixture forms, materials, and finishes were selected to complement the hotel’s interior style, furniture, and decorative elements.
Layered Lighting Design — Different fixture types were combined to create ambient, task, and decorative lighting layers.
Furniture & Lighting Coordination — Fixture positions and proportions were coordinated with the layouts of sofas, lounge seating, dining tables, and other furniture.
Dining Space Lighting — Lighting arrangements were adapted for dining tables and restaurant areas, balancing comfortable illumination with the desired atmosphere.
Integrated Lighting Coordination — Materials, colors, proportions, and detailing were coordinated across different fixture types to create a cohesive lighting language throughout the hotel’s public spaces.
