Craftell Home provided customized furniture for the restaurant and F&B areas of MayaBay Dubai, located beside the Turtle Lagoon at Jumeirah Al Naseem. The interior combines natural materials, including timber and stone, with warm tones inspired by MayaBay’s Monaco identity. Furniture was developed specifically for the venue, with customized forms, proportions, upholstery, timber stains, and finishes designed to support guest comfort, practical maintenance, and long-term use in a busy hospitality environment.
Project Overview
MayaBay Dubai is the first international location of the Monaco-born MayaBay restaurant concept, set beside the Turtle Lagoon at Jumeirah Al Naseem. Covering approximately 770 square metres, the restaurant opened in May 2022 with around 200 covers. Developed by Orange Hospitality in partnership with Maya Collection and designed by Sylvestre Murigneux of YC Living, the project required bespoke furniture tailored to the restaurant’s interior concept, guest comfort, operational requirements, and intensive hospitality use.
Project Scope & Product Supply
Craftell Home provided customized furniture for the restaurant and F&B areas at MayaBay Dubai. Furniture forms, dimensions, materials, upholstery, and finishes were tailored to the interior concept and functional requirements of each area, balancing the venue’s visual character, guest comfort, and practical demands of restaurant use.
Note: The furniture was designed for high-use restaurant and F&B environments, with materials and craftsmanship selected with consideration for routine cleaning, exposure to food and beverages, wear resistance, and long-term use. Furniture finishes were also coordinated with the restaurant’s timber, stone, and warm-toned interior elements.
Design Requirements & Customized Solutions
The furniture solution for MayaBay Dubai was developed around the restaurant’s interior concept and the demands of intensive hospitality use. Materials, dimensions, upholstery, finishes, and construction details were refined to achieve the required visual character while supporting everyday restaurant operation and maintenance.
Material & Color Coordination — Furniture materials, upholstery, metal elements, and finishes were coordinated with the restaurant’s timber, stone, and warm-toned interior palette.
Customized Furniture Dimensions —
Dimensions and proportions were adjusted according to spatial scale, seating arrangements, and circulation requirements in different areas.
Customized Upholstery & Fabrics — Upholstery materials and filling specifications were selected for frequent restaurant use, balancing comfort, stain resistance, wear resistance, and routine maintenance.
Timber & Surface Finish Treatment —
Timber colors, grain appearance, and surface treatments were customized to complement the overall interior color palette and material composition.
Structural & Craftsmanship Refinement — Internal construction, connection methods, edge details, and stitching were refined according to furniture dimensions and intended use, with attention to stability and manufacturing precision.
Customized Design Details — Furniture forms, curves, proportions, and craftsmanship details were customized according to the design requirements of each area, maintaining consistency with the overall interior concept.
